Computer tomography
At the JCI Clinical Research Center, we run research programs using the latest diagnostic and therapeutic techniques. As part of the research programs carried out, there is a possibility of payable CT scan. We provide a full range of diagnostic tests, including head, spine, bone, chest, abdomen, pelvis, heart and vessels tests.
What is a Computer Tomography?
Computer tomography (CT) is a diagnostic method where multilayer cross-sectional images of the patient's body are obtained using X-rays. Because of the extremely adaptable range of applications, computed tomography is one of the basic imaging methods in all medicine specialties. Diagnostics with its application are used, among others in imaging injuries, in examining the head, chest and abdominal cavity, for imaging internal organs, including the liver, pancreas, kidneys, in detecting cancerous lesions, bleeding and congestion. CT is also used for non-invasive coronary artery examination, replacing classical coronary angiography, and is also used for other angiographic tests.
What does the test involve??
Computed Tomography is one of the most modern methods for imaging body structures and is widely used in medicine to diagnose diseases, including head, spine, lungs, chest, abdomen, pelvis, joints, musculoskeletal system and heart and vessels. Computed tomography allows imaging of tissues and organs with excellent accuracy, it is possible to visualize structures of a very small size.
The study involves obtaining images of body structures using X-rays. The examination is completely painless, usually lasts from a few to several minutes and requires lying still. For a correct diagnosis, it is often necessary to give intravenous or, in some cases, an oral contrast medium.
Preparation for computed tomography?
Before proceeding with a CT scan, you should:
- Determine serum creatinine and TSH levels (in any analytical laboratory) - applies ONLY to tests with the specified contrast. The test result is valid for 30 days (7 days in special cases).
- Do not eat 4 hours before the test - applies ONLY to tests with the specified contrast
- Drink still water in unlimited quantities.
- Report to the center 30 minutes before the scheduled test time.
- Bring your ID card, medical records (previous MR, CT, X-ray, ultrasound examinations - test descriptions and CD / DVD, hospital and outpatient treatment information cards, other medical records), reading glasses.
- Take your medications as prescribed by a doctor, with still water.
Before examination, medical personel should be notified of kidney disease, thyroid disease, diabetes, pregnancy and breastfeeding. The appropriate security questionnaire is availableat reception desk.
After performing the test with the administration of the contrast medium, it is advisable to increase fluid intake for 24 hours to expel the contrast medium faster. The test result can be picked up in person, through an authorized person or sent by post.

Receiving test results:
- Personal collection or by an authorized person
The patient is informed by phone when the result is ready for collection. The patient or an authorized person (indicated on the day of the examination) may report to collect the result. The result is given only on the basis of presenting a document with a photo confirming the identity of the recipient.
- Sending results to the e-mail address provided
The result of the examination prepared by the radiologist is sent in the form of an encoded file to the email address provided during registration. The password enabling to open the result is sent to the indicated phone number.
- Sending results to the postal address provided
The result of the examination can be sent by post (deadline up to 14 business days) to the address provided by the Patient during registration. It is not possible to send the test results by post without specifying the particular address by the patient or on oral request.
The waiting time for test results are as follow:
up to 20 business days from the date of the test.
